Resume and Cover Letter

One assignment that i liked doing this semester was the resume and cover letter assignment. Before doing this assignment, I never created a resume or cover letter for myself. To have to do this assignment has really prepared me for when I graduate from BSU and have to find a job for myself. Having a good resume and cover letter is so important especially now a days due to the difficulty of finding a job. Before doing this assignment I really didnt think that the design of the resume would mean so much, but now that i know that I can create a great resume for when I look for a job.

Writing Instructions

What I found interesting in the reading for this week was how to write instructions. The book says that too much information in writing instructions can clutter the page and cause the reader to be somewhat overwhelming. I definitly agree with that, when i read instructions on how to fix my xbox, the instructions were pretty much all information and very little graphics to give me an idea on what to do. By cluttering the instructions with to much information, it really caused me to get frustrated and throw the instructional manueal in the garbage. If the people who wrote the instructions just kept it simple, i wouldn't have gotten mad and throw the instructions away. 

Collaborative Project

For our collaborative project, my group learned about informational reports and the different types of informational reports. One of the informational reports that we will present is the incident report. Incident reports have to do with accidents, health emergencies, and equipment problems. Incident reports explain what the incident was, why the incident occured, and what the company is doing to fix the and prevent further incidents from happening. Incident reports, like all informational reports, must be written clear, objective, and accurate.   

Possible Source for Essay 2

One possible source for information for essay 2 is the Bridgewater State athletic website. If students who are looking to come to BSU and want to play sports, the information on the athletic site would be great for making a flyer for those future students. The site includes all NCAA teams for both men and women like baseball, softball, soccor, basketball, and football. The site also shows club sports like lacrosse and ice hockey. If future students are just looking for activities to do at BSU, the site also provides intramural sports. If future students are looking to play sports at BSU, the BSU athletic site provides great information for them.
